CURECANTI NATIONAL RECREATION AREA IN CIMARRON, CO
This is the second D&RG trestle constructed at this location and was originally constructed with four spans. Shown is the 119? decked Pratt truss span. This span consists of two pin-connected Pratt trusses with 14?-11? panels. The girders support two 18" I beams which support the wood deck and each end post of the trusses rests on sandstone piers. The transverse girders support two 15? I-beam stringers which in turn support the deck. The deck consists of 8?x8? by 14? fir cross ties supported by the two stringers and top chord of the trusses. Looking east downstream on the Cimarron River. [http://www.hscl.cr.nps.gov/insidenps/summary.asp]
