Comments/Directions:
Cool Springs has a good collection of both narrow guage railroad equipment and of standard guage. The collection includes an 0-4-0 NG (narrow guage) steam locomotive. There is a four wheel gas powered switcher, also NG, built by the Vulcan Iron Works in Wilkes Barre, PA in 1948, USA patent #4667. Also is an H. K. Porter & Co. 0-4-0 dual gauge steam engine, built in Pittsburg, PA. There is a NG 4- wheeled Fairmont track motor car, an Ex-East Braod Top Railroad and Coal Company (EBTRR&CCo.) 3 bay NG hopper, a NG boxcar and two NG flatcars, also ex-(EBTRR&CCo.). The collection includes 5 Ex-Baltimore and Ohio cabooses, 3 are cupola cabooses, #C2158, # C2161, and # ?. There is a B&O bay-window caboose, # X2773. There is a B&O caboose on narrow-guage trucks, so that it will fit Cool Springs track #C2645. There are trucks, without cars, from both the B&O and from the EBTRR&CCo.. As an added bonus. around the park are many baggage carts, presumably from the B&O station in nearby Rowlesburg. All around the park are different railroad aretifacts, and a recreated rail yard, with many switches and tracks, storing the equipment.
