TEDD LiGGETT’s phOTOGRAPH_oF_tHE_dAY #4730 - around 1895 McIntosh Florida became an important stop on the “Orange Belt Route” of the Florida Southern Railroad. The two rail ran 81 miles from Palatka to Gainesville and Ocala, becoming a hub of citrus & vegetable shipments from the area. After the last train passed in 1974 ‘The Friends of Mcintosh’ raised funds & restored the depot. The McIntosh Depot serves as a museum & meeting house in this town of 450+ folks. photographed on May 26, 2016 Latitude: 29° 26’ 55” N Longitude: 82° 12’ 56” W
