The freight end of the FW&D depot. Founded in the early 1880s, Chillicothe developed rapidly after the FW&D reached Chillicothe in 1887 . A fire destroyed the town in 1890, and citizens rebuilt south of the rail line. The town was incorporated in 1907 with a population of about 800 (which is today's population). Coincidentally, the KCM&O arrived that year, also. http://www.depots.txrrhistory.com/ABC/Chillicothe/Chillicothe.htm
