Restored depot where visitors learn about the dramatic story of 15 year old Kate Shelley's warning of upcoming danger to a passenger train. Working telegraph, railroad memorabilia, artifacts relating to life of Kate Shelley. Depot houses a theater for a tape/slide show of the story. The museum is open by appointment to arrange call 515-432-1907. There is also an easy 3/4 mile walk to the old railroad right of way to the site where Kate Shelley crossed the bridge over the Des Moines river. Also, books for sale about the Kate Shelley story.
