RAILROAD MUSEUM TOY TRAIN COLLECTION/DISPLAY RAILROAD MEMORABILIA ON DISPLAY RAILROAD DEPOT RAILCAR(S) ON DISPLAY MODEL RAILROAD LOCOMOTIVE(S) ON DISPLAY HISTORICAL LANDMARK DIESEL EXCURSIONS STANDARD GAUGE
Comments/Directions: At the west end of the Strand Historic District, the Galveston Railroad Museum's more than 35 pieces of locomotives and rolling stock is one of the largest restored railroad collections in the southwest, and one of the five largest in the country, with numerous railroad memorabilia and exhibits, including the Renfert collection of railroad dining china, O-gauge train displays, or a short train ride near Galveston Harbor on MPac Caboose #13895. Southeast Texas' most popular railroad museum, has lots to see and do for everyone! Damaged by Hurricane Ike, the grand re-opening in November, 2012, with 2 newly repainted F7A locos (they look great) makes this noteworthy attraction available again.
