This is the Arkansas river looking east from the raised section. The bridge, like the Junction Bridge, is lit up at night and nicely decorated.

This is approaching the top of the raised section. The rails were about 50ft (my estimate) below.

This is the walkway on the bridge towards the raised section. The bridge is locked in the up position for boat traffic, which affords a view most didn't see prior.

The Rock Island bridge is a massive structure that was not built with the raised section, it was retrofitted with it.
