Join us for this 2 1/2 mile, 30 minute excursion on the classic White Mt. Central Railroad. Steam across the scenic Pemigewasset River and through rustic woods and into the past! The tour takes visitors on one of only three wood-burning steam Climax Locomotives still running in the world and crosses over the only standing Howe-Truss covered bridge still in use today! In 1963-65 a railroad covered bridge located in East Montpelier, Vt., was dismantled, transported, and reassembled spanning the Pemigewasset River on the White Mt. Central creating a scenic extension to the Railroad and a monumental accomplishment. The railroad has been running for over 40 years.
